REFLECTION
For this module, we were required to form a group by mixing and matching students from different specialisations. This was a scary experience as we had to work with others of different feild and mindset, everyone was new so didn't know how this module will go. At first, it felt challenging because everyone had different skills and ways of thinking. However, I slowly understood that this diversity was important for creating a stronger and more organized project. Somehow everything started falling in place. Everyone was cooperative and helpful, while this assignment became more fun to work on. Later when we discussed different ideas, we all instantly got attracted to Social AI Robot as our topic. We selected this idea because we wanted to solve a real social problem, especially loneliness and lack of emotional support, particularly among elderly people. Each group member contributed ideas based on their specialization and understandings, which helped us look at the problem from different perspectives. My role in the group included participating in brainstorming sessions, helping with research and supporting the designing of the concept and presentation. However with the help of feedbacks from client, lecturer and groupmates, this module went through smoothly and was fun to work on. We also went for real life experiences for interview and testing which was really helpful as we met elderlies and asked about our insights to understand our topic in more personal level. Overall, this project helped me grow as a designer and as a team member. Working with students from different specialisations taught me flexibility, collaboration and problem-solving skills. The Social AI Robot project made me realize how design and technology can work together to create solutions with real social problems. This was a exciting fun yet very helpful and knowledgeable module.
