TASK 2

Exercise : Decisive Moment

In this assignment, we were required to use either the previous character or a new one and create an environment that complements it, focusing on mastering the principles of composition. The goal was to build a dynamic, balanced scene that effectively conveys the mood, story, and personality of the character. Additionally, by following the guidelines from Framed Ink, we explored techniques to arrange elements within the scene to guide the viewer's attention, establish depth, and enhance storytelling. Emphasis was placed on achieving balance, contrast, focus, and flow within your composition.

We had to start with creating a mood board followed by referencing and final work in a pokemon card.

REFLECTION

This assignment was really fun and interesting as it helped me focus on harmonizing character and environment to create a cohesive story by applying principles from Framed Ink. Starting with a mood board, I selected references according to what seemed colorful and attractive as i like playing around with colors, guiding my choices for both the character and background elements. By balancing contrast, focus, and flow, I directed attention, established depth, and enhanced storytelling, making the environment a seamless extension of the character’s personality. Adapting the final piece into a Pokemon card format added the challenge of maintaining composition and adding super powers according to its appearance and mood. Overall, this project helped me improve my understanding on Photoshop and even balanced scenes that effectively convey mood and story.
