Week 1 Practical
LECTURE
Week 1: It was my first class of the semester, and I was feeling both excited and a little nervous. But the professor turned out to be really friendly, which immediately helped me relax. As he walked us through the course, my anxiety turned to curiosity and motivation. He explained the study plan and introduced some softwares we would be using in this module which was challenging but also super interesting. He also gave us a sneak peek of the previous student's works which made us more fimiliar with the module and assignments. He wrapped up by assigning us two tasks: creating an e-portfolio and finding three graphic designs we like, along with reasons why. It felt like the perfect way to dive into the semester. We also made us go through why we need to learn photoshop in which there are reasons such as expressing our creativity, create graphic design, restoration of old images, integrate graphics with text artistically, make use of brushes, change photo color and rectify mistakes in photographs. We also learned about some basics on digital imaging along with few tips to become a successful graphic designer in future. This boosted my excitment to know further throughout the semister.
PRACTICAL
Week 1
We were asked to select three graphic designs of our choice and organize them into a dedicated folder on Pinterest even with the reasoning why we like those designs.

Description:It gives a dream land effect which made me attracted to this image. The color choices are so vibrant which gives a feeling of wonder. The layer element makes it more depth of immersion. The cloud above and below the land establishes a sense of dreamlike realm, enhancing the feeling of floating in space.

Description: I admire doodling a lot as they show different emotions in different characters. Each character’s expression conveys distinct emotions such as anger, happiness, sadness, confusion and so on. It makes me feel like the characters and connects to me emotionally. The exaggerated features enhance the expressions. The color palette evokes joy and playfulness making it more fun.
REFLECTIONS
Week 1: Through this practical activity, I found myself particularly drawn to compositions that displayed a strong use of color and emotions. My selections were influenced by how effectively the designs communicated their messages and resonated with me as a viewer. This process of analyzing various graphic designs helped me to gain a deeper understanding of my personal design preferences, while also encouraging me to think more critically about how different visual elements work together to create an impactful design. The experience not only allowed me to appreciate well-executed design but also helped me reflect on how I can apply these principles into my own creative work. Overall, it was an excellent starting point for the semester, giving me an opportunity to explore designs in a meaningful way and creating a foundation for future learning and exploration.
