PROJECT 2B

POSTER DESIGN

Week 8

This week was ILW so we were asked to start working on our project 2b on our own, which was to create a Poster design using elements of photography, typography and vector graphics. We had to start with Part 1 which was to reasearch on the topic of poster design and create a moodboard with references, chosen quote of the day and the summary of the design concept we want to work with. We had to fill up the progressions.

Reference Pictures

Quote of the day: Trust the timing of life

Summary of the design concept: My concept is to show two parts of time one being very colorful and blooming the one side being gray, faded and broken which represents good times and bad times in life. Followed by wines all around the clock which shows the flow from good to bad and vise versa. Further adding elements like butterfly and flowers on the bright side and dead leaves on the other side to emphasis on the details of representation. Adding a contrast of color palette with both bright and faded colors to show the difference and blur of colors in between to show how it's not always just happy or sad.

REFLECTION

This week was more of a research week which helped create a strong understanding on how to create the poster. Going through pinterest for references broaden the understanding of poster making and enhanced the creative thinking skills. It provided access to diverse perspectives, allowing me to create a creative design. It also advanced my creativity by offering inspiration and insight into various approaches. Furthermore summarising the poster design idea gave a better understanding on how to move further with the project.
