Project 2

INSTRUCTION

TASK

For this project, we were divided into groups and we were tasked with shooting scenes based on a provided storyboard. Later, we had to edit the footage to create a movie trailer. I was assigned the role of Location Sound during the shooting and had to further edit the videos individually.

We began with a color correction exercise after shooting, which helped us undertand the usage of it which further helped in refining the visuals for the trailer. Additionally, we attempted a quiz on color theory, color correction, and color grading to deepen our understanding of these concepts.

REFLECTION

Working on the trailer was both exciting and challenging as it gave us a chance to explore different editing techniques but on the other hand, the process was really time consuming and difficult, but it helped improve my skills and learn a lot along the way. One of the biggest challenges faced during this project was not having face-to-face classes due to holidays. After finishing the shoot, we had to figure things out on our own using tutorial videos and lecture notes. Without physical feedback or guidance, it was difficult to solve problems quickly, especially when dealing with new things like syncing audio perfectly or adding complex effects. Along with that, time management was a bit tricky as editing required a lot of careful attention, and doing it by myself made it time consuming but it also improved my time management skills as i got the trailer done within the given deadline. At first i found it a bit difficult to find effects to fit in according to the vision i had in mind. I struggled initially to get the effects consistent across all the clips but somehow i got it decently edited. Adding texts and contrast required a lot of trial and error.

Despite these challenges, the project was a great learning experience as i became more confident with using Adobe Premiere Pro while improving my creative and critical thinking skills. For example, what initially seemed like a complicated task, color correction ended up being an opportunity to play around with tones and moods to enhance the trailer. Also this project improved my capabilities to work in team while giving feedbacks to each other and share ideas. This experience made us better at collaborating and solving problems together. Finally, the trailer was not only challenging but also helped gain new skills and confidence. While it was tough initially but, we learned to be independent and patient.
