INSTRUCTIONS

CLASS ACTIVITY

For the tutorial activity we got introduced to Adobe Dreamweaver and we were asked to create a personal introduction webpage that includes a page title, a main heading with our name, a subheading with a nickname or fun fact, and two short paragraphs to introduce ourselves and our families. We had to highlight one bold word and one italicized word in our text. Along with that include three unordered lists for hobbies, favorite movies, and favorite foods and an ordered list for three goals we want to achieve this year.

TASK

For this project we were asked to Redesign an existing website to enhance its design, user experience (UX), and performance. Starting by analyzing the current site’s design, usability, and technical performance. Setting clear goals for the redesign, addressing the needs of the target audience. Developing a proposal with visual design ideas, UX enhancements, and technical improvements. Finally, preparing the proposal as a presentation.

Website Chosen: SpaceJam

REFLECTION

This project, was both challenging and rewarding as it was difficult to find an existing website that could be improved and identify its weaknesses. It required a careful look at design elements and testing the website usability. This process was really interesting as it taught me how to prioritize design decisions based on user needs, technical usability and aesthetics. Creating the proposal taught me how to develop visual design concepts, such as mood boards and wireframes, required creativity and attention to detail. I also had to improve my technical knowledge to suggest changes. This step helped me understand the importance of blending creativity with technical considerations in web design. It taught me how to present ideas professionally.

Overall, this assignment enhanced my ability to evaluate websites critically, prioritize user experience, and create practical solutions. It also built my confidence in combining creative and technical skills to solve design problems effectively.
