INSTRUCTIONS

TASK
This project focuses on developing the pre-production stage. We were asked to define the game concept, collect inspiration and design a mood boards that guide the look and feel of the character. We had to build a visual direction before moving into development of the character.

REFLECTION
From the exercise, I learned how important it is to pre plan and organize ideas before creating any character. The first step was to define the concept and come up with visual references for the character. I collected many inspirational images of different characters but i didn't want to make a human like character so i came up with a character that is more like a cartoon and experimental. I thought it would be easy to work on a cartoon as it is more fun and interesting to work on but little did i know it was not at all that easy. I understood all the difficulties in the next task. Important part of this assignment was to plan the character through art principles before going in details of creation. This taught me how important pre-production is and if the planning is strong, the development process becomes easier and faster. This improved my creative thinking skills and also my time management skills as i had to submit within a given deadline.
