TASK

In this project, we were required to design and sculpt a complete outfit and atleast one prop for the character sculpted previously. We had to use sculpting techniques like cloth fold, layering, ornamention and surface detailing. We had to add colors to the character and also the outfit.

REFLECTION

While sculpting the outfit for the character that was already sculpted before the main aim was to improve the sculpting skills on Zbrush and adding color to the character and outfit. At the beginning of this task, I found it exciting but also really challenging as it looked really nice after adding the details and colors but when i actually had to do it, it was really difficult. It was also really confusing as my lecturer and me weren't being able to align to the same design idea. Designing an outfit that matched the character’s personality was not easy. Translating my ideas from sketches into a detailed sculpt was difficult, especially when making sure the outfit looked natural and believable. One of the biggest challenges was sculpting cloth folds as it was continuously overlapping each other. I didn't add any prop for my character as it was not fitting the story. Adding colors to my character was one of the fun and interesting parts as i got to explore different color pallets. Through this, I learned a lot about sculpting techniques and character design. I improved my understanding of cloth folds and color application. Most importantly, I learned to be patient and to trust the process. This project helped me gain more confidence in 3D sculpting.
