TASK

For this assignment, we were required to render a 2d Splash Art that includes the use of elements or environment based on the hero pose of the final character. We had to come up with moodboard, references, sketches, pose sketches, along with the final pose and final splash art.

REFLECTION

During this assignment, I create a splash art that used environmental elements based on the hero pose of my final character. At the beginning, I found it pretty challenging as I had to think not only about the character but also how the background elements would support the story. Started by creating moodboard and gathering references which would help me understand what to do. During the sketching stage, I explored many poses and splash art ideas. Through trial and error and also getting feedbacks from my tutor helped me a lot to understand how all the elements combine together to make a meaningful Splash art, I learned how important silhouette and body language are in showing power and emotion. After a couple of attempts i came up with an idea which really looked interesting and even my tutor was impressed with the idea so i started working on the final splash art, I struggled with adding details in the start but initially i found my way out. I realized that not every area needs the same level of detail. This taught me to focus more on visual hierarchy and focusing the viewer’s eyes toward the hero character. Overall, this assignment helped me become more patient and organized in my workflow. I learned the importance of planning, experimenting and refining ideas before reaching the final artwork. It also improved my time management and problem solving skills along with the critical and creative abilities.
