PROGRESS WORK

For the first few weeks we practiced few exercises to better understand what and how we need to proceed with our projects. These exercises were basic tutorials for what we had to do in our assignments.

Drive: Link to Drive

For the first exercise we had to Quantify and Visualise data by arranging a particular object with relevant indicators to help visualise the quantity and data.

Next we had to redesign a poorly constructed infographic poster on Canva.

Next we had to design a LATCH poster.

Next we practiced a vector animation with the image given.

Next we practiced motion graphic with basic shapes and graphic chart.

Next we were divided into groups and had to create a presentation summarising Manuel Lima’s 9 Directives Manifesto.

Lastly we practiced different kinetic typography animations.

REFLECTION

We started with a few exercises to help us understand the basics and technical process before working on our main assignments. These activities were like practice tutorials that taught us how to present information clearly and creatively. They helped us become familiar with the design process and Adobe After Effect along side Photoshop. Through these exercises, I improved my understanding of visual hierarchy, layout, colour, typography, animation and motion graphics. I also learned that good design is not only about making something look attractive but also about making information easy to understand. Working on both individual and group activities gave me the chance to improve my creative thinking, problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.

Overall, these exercises gave me a strong foundation before starting the assignments. They helped me be more confident and also practicing allowed me to experiment, make mistakes and improve my skills.
