PROCESS WORK
This was the first assignment for Environment Design, where we understood the basic principles and techniques used in the pre production of designing environment for games. This aimed on developing fundamental skills and making us more confident. It included perspective studies of environments and composition sketches of 3D objects to understand depth and shapes, also value painting exercises to explore light and shadow and silhouette studies to understand shape design and readability at first glance. We also did ambience studies to create different moods and color management exercises to learn how color influences visual storytelling. Lastly, we explored photo bashing techniques by combining multiple photographic elements to create environment concepts efficiently.

REFLECTION
This assignment helped me build a strong foundation in environment design, through the perspective and composition sketches which taught me how to arrange objects effectively and guide the viewer’s attention within a scene. Value painting improved my understanding of light, shadow, and contrast, which are important for creating form and visual interest.
The silhouette studies helped me understand the importance of clear and readable shapes, while the ambience exercises showed me how lighting and atmosphere can influence the mood of an environment. The color management tasks improved my ability to choose and organize colors that support the theme and storytelling of a scene. Finally, the photobashing exercises introduced me to a faster workflow for generating environment concepts and helped me learn how to combine different visual elements into a cohesive design. Overall, this assignment strengthened my observation, visualization, and design skills. It gave me a better understanding of the core principles of environment design and prepared me for more advanced environment projects in the future.
