REFLECTION
This project was really helpful as it made me understand how important it is to build a strong foundation of the elements before designing the final product. At the beginning, I started by developing a world, which helped me define the mood and purpose of the vehicle. This step made me think beyond just a random vehicle and consider how it would exist and function within a specific environment. Next, creating a mood board and collecting references further strengthened my understanding of the visual direction and overall atmosphere I wanted to achieve.
After that, I explored silhouette studies and idea sketches, which helped me generate multiple concepts quickly without focusing too much on details. This stage was important because it allowed me to experiment different ideas before selecting a final idea. Refining the final idea into functional sketches, making sure the vehicle design was practical and suited to its intended use in the world I created.
Drawing the vehicle from different angles helped me improve my understanding of proportion, structure, and consistency. It also made me realize how important technical accuracy is in making a design believable. The color and texture experiments were especially useful because they allowed me to test different visual styles and materials, which helped me decide what best fits the mood of my environment.
In the final stage, I combined all these elements to produce a fully developed vehicle design with color and texture. This process taught me that good design is not just about the final drawing, but about research, experimentation, and iteration. Overall, this assignment improved my skills in concept development, visual storytelling, and design thinking, and it made me more confident in creating a complete design from pre-production to final output.
